  • We are a holistic wellness spa in Virginia Beach offering massage therapy, acupuncture, energy work, infrared sauna, cold plunge, Fire & Ice contrast therapy, and integrative bodywork. Our approach blends modern science with ancient healing traditions to support whole-body wellness.

  • We are located in Virginia Beach, near the Shore Drive area, serving local residents and visitors looking for elevated, intentional wellness experiences.

  • We do not believe in one-size-fits-all wellness.

At Rooted Method, there is no cookie-cutting protocol that every guest moves through. Instead, we honor the individuality of both our clients and our providers. Each session is guided by intention, education, and the unique needs of the person on the table that day.

Our team is made up of highly trained practitioners from diverse professional backgrounds—including therapeutic massage, Eastern medicine, energy work, nervous system regulation, and integrative bodywork. Every provider brings their own expertise, clinical knowledge, professionalism, and passion into the treatment room.

    This diversity is our strength.

Rather than forcing providers into rigid scripts or standardized routines, we empower them to:

    • Listen deeply to your body and goals

    • Draw from their training and lived experience

    • Adapt techniques in real time

    • Provide care that evolves with you

The result is care that feels thoughtful, personalized, and genuinely therapeutic, not rehearsed or rushed.

While our approach is individualized, our standards are not. All services are delivered within clear professional, ethical, and safety guidelines to ensure consistency, integrity, and trust—without sacrificing creativity or intuition.

Rooted Method is not about checking boxes or moving guests through a system.
It’s about meeting you where you are, honoring the wisdom of the body, and allowing skilled practitioners to do what they do best—care deeply and intentionally. We focus on intentional, therapeutic care, not rushed treatments. Every service is customized, education-driven, and rooted in long-term wellbeing rather than quick fixes.

We recommend booking in advance, as same-day availability is limited.

  • Pre booking is preferred to guarantee a spot.

On occasion, we may be able to accommodate walk ins for thermal therapy services.

Massage, Energy Work, and Acupuncture appointments require pre-scheduling.

  • Occasionally, depending on availability. Typically massage, acupuncture, and energy work appointments book out in advance. Thermal therapy sessions are usually available on the same day. Give us a call or join our waitlist (click BOOK NOW) to be notified if an opening becomes available.

  • Absolutely! We love to pamper out of town visitors and guests. We are located right across the street from The Delta Hotel and the Chesapeake Bay with a beautiful beach. We are also steps away from First Landing State Park, beach access, and a variety of restaurants and local shops.

  • Wear comfortable clothing. For massage and acupuncture, you may undress to your comfort level. Swimsuits are required to take the plunge in our cold plunge. Robes will be provided for thermal therapy clients. We recommend lose clothing for post sauna sessions as tight clothing is difficult to put on after a sweat session.

  • Hydrate, relax, and avoid alcohol and other sugary substances. Your body just got pampered and the detox process has been initiated. Massage releases toxins from muscle tissue. Hydration supports flushing these from your system.

We also recommend a full spectrum sauna session to elevate the entire experience and lift you to that euphoric state.

  • 100% Yes. Your comfort and results depend on communication.

Learn about our services

  • Infrared heat is the same radiant heat produced by the sun—without harmful UV rays.

It penetrates deeply into muscles, joints, and tissues to increase circulation and support detoxification.

Our saunas are full spectrum, which means that they emit near, mid and far infrared heat.

    • Near Infrared: Supports immunity, wound healing, skin renewal, and pain relief.

    • Mid Infrared: Enhances circulation, reduces inflammation, and relieves muscle and joint pain.

    • Far Infrared: Promotes detoxification, relaxation, blood pressure reduction, and weight loss.

Infrared vs Traditional Sauna Infrared saunas operate at lower temperatures (120–160°F) compared to traditional dry saunas (185–195°F) yet produce deeper sweating due to tissue penetration. Infrared saunas are often better tolerated by those sensitive to extreme heat.

  • Infrared Before Your Massage or Acupuncture: Think of this as the opening chapter of your self-care ritual. The infrared heat gently prepares the body by relaxing tight muscles and softening connective tissue, allowing your massage and/or acupuncture session to go deeper and feel even more effective.

Just as importantly, it signals a mental shift—an invitation to slow down, tune inward, and fully arrive in your body. When the nervous system settles first, the treatment that follows becomes even more restorative.

Infrared After Your Massage (not recommended after acupuncture): Post-massage infrared helps extend the benefits you’ve already received. With muscles relaxed and the nervous system soothed, heat encourages circulation and helps flush out metabolic waste that contributes to soreness and inflammation.

This combination supports longer-lasting relief, deeper recovery, and that light, floating feeling many guests notice as they move through the rest of their day. Hydrate, breathe, and let the calm linger.

Standalone Infrared Sauna: No massage required. Just 20 or 40 minutes of infrared warmth, red light therapy, and uninterrupted time to yourself. Simple. Grounding. Powerful.

Standalone infrared sessions support mental clarity, joint comfort, stress relief, reduced inflammation, and skin vitality, making them an ideal ritual between bodywork appointments or on days when you simply need space to reset and reconnect. goes here

  • Fire & Ice combines infrared sauna heat with cold plunge immersion to stimulate circulation, improve recovery, and support nervous system resilience.

  • When used properly and with medical clearance when needed, cold plunging can be safe and beneficial.

Cold Plunging can help with muscle recovery, inflammation, resiliency (focus, euphoria, motivation), and circulation.

It is recommended that women plunge at a higher temperature than what is required for men,.

We provide education and guidance for all first-time guests.

  • Bring your bathing suit and fill out all applicable forms before arrival.

When you arrive (10 minutes before your appointment), we will ask that you shower before entering the cold plunge to clean the skin. Our trained wellness coordinators will walk you through every step.

  • If you book only the cold plunge, you get your own private room for 10 minutes. It is not recommended to dip longer than 5 minutes. You may break up that time however you wish. No cool points for staying in for too long. Your body will benefit even after soaking for 20 seconds.

If you book a fire and ice appointment, you get your own private suite for one hour. You may alternate between the full spectrum sauna and the cold tub as many times as you wish and are able to in a safe manner.

  • The service and the room is designed for this to be an individual session. Part of the benefit for a cold plunge is to test your limits, go within, and find the calm. We feel this is best done in isolation. Additionally, the room (and the tub) can get crowded with more than one person in the room.

  • Yes, we have showers on site that are fully equipped with shampoo, conditioner, body wash, and clean linens.
