PROFESSIONAL TITLE: Licensed Acupuncturist

SERVICES I CURRENTLY PERFORM: Acupuncture, Gua Sha, Cupping, Nutritional Counseling, Lifestyle Coaching

TREATMENT STYLE + APPROACH: I believe in treating the whole person, not just symptoms. Every patient brings a unique set of circumstances, and I work collaboratively with each individual to develop treatment plans that address their specific needs and health goals. My approach integrates traditional acupuncture techniques with complementary therapies to promote the body's natural healing abilities.

SPECIALTIES/MODALITIES TRAINED IN: Acupuncture Detox Specialist

EXPERIENCE: Before joining the Rooted Method team, I enjoyed 10 years of private practice at Tidewater Acupuncture & Wellness in Virginia Beach. I also spent 2 years providing acupuncture treatments in Baltimore, MD, in private and group settings.

PROFESSIONAL MOTIVATION: My path to acupuncture began with a personal health crisis. After a car accident left me with chronic pain, I went through countless conventional treatments that provided little relief. I was essentially told I'd have to live with this pain for the rest of my life. When I was finally referred to acupuncture as a last resort, I was skeptical but desperate.

What happened next changed everything—not just my pain levels, but my entire understanding of healing. The acupuncture didn't just mask my symptoms; it addressed the root cause of my pain and eliminated what doctors said would be permanent. This experience taught me the profound difference between treating symptoms and treating the source of a problem.

That transformation from patient to practitioner drives everything I do today. Every day, I get to offer hope to people who are where I once was—told there are no solutions, that they'll have to 'manage' their condition indefinitely. What keeps me inspired is witnessing those breakthrough moments when patients realize their bodies have an incredible capacity to heal when we address the underlying imbalances rather than just suppressing symptoms.

I'm motivated by the opportunity to help people reclaim their lives, just as acupuncture helped me reclaim mine. It's not just about pain relief—it's about restoring people's faith in their body's ability to heal and giving them back their quality of life.

MY IDEAL CLIENT: Every patient who enters my practice receives a completely individualized diagnosis and treatment approach that encompasses both acupuncture therapy and comprehensive lifestyle coaching. I never use cookie-cutter protocols because I understand that each person's body tells a different story, and their daily choices either support or hinder their healing journey. Often, a person is unaware of the source of their symptoms. I will understand the source of a person’s symptoms and then create acupuncture treatments and lifestyle habits to support healing. My style of treatment is for the person who wants to address their symptoms at their source, heal, and enjoy being balanced and living in their fullest expression of health in their body, mind, and emotions.

I create a calm, welcoming environment where patients feel comfortable discussing their health concerns. I take the time to listen carefully to each patient's story and explain treatment options clearly, ensuring patients are active participants in their healing journey.

WHAT MAKES YOUR SESSIONS UNIQUE: Through traditional Chinese medicine diagnostic techniques—including detailed pulse reading, tongue analysis, and comprehensive constitutional assessment—I identify the unique pattern of imbalance affecting each individual. But true healing extends beyond the needles. I work closely with each patient to understand how their sleep patterns, stress management, nutrition choices, exercise habits, work environment, and emotional patterns contribute to their health challenges.

My role is to be both healer and coach, uncovering these individual patterns and guiding patients toward lifestyle changes that amplify their body's natural healing response. This integrated approach means that point selection, needle depth, treatment frequency, dietary recommendations, stress management techniques, sleep optimization strategies, and movement practices are all tailored to what your body and life circumstances specifically require for sustainable healing.
